it has been 10 years since i dreamed what is it like to live in 1891, when all Sherlockian in the world sent such a rude letters addressed to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, whom at that time “killed” Sherlock Holmes in his writing, “The Final Problem”.  One of the letter simply said, “You’re jerk!” .  It was such a big surprise for him, knowing that the detective character he made affected the world so much.  That’s why he wrote “The Adventure of Empty House” , the story that tell them Sherlock Holmes is back, alive.  

And now, in 2012, after dreaming for more than 10 years, I finally feel what is it like when Sherlock Holmes is being a very hot topic in the world.  Honestly, I feel so impressed.  It’s been a long time when I feel so lonely for being a Sherlockian, especially because I live in Indonesia, where the character is not so famous.  And the first strike of him in this modern era was the movie, played by Robert Downey Jr., which I and all the real Sherlockian DO NOT like it at all.  It’s Hollywood’s Holmes, American one.  Not Holmes that is created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  But Thank God, a real Sherlockian who understand, make this series, and build every detail of Holmes’s world.  John Watson’s writing, Holmes’s writing, the Sherlockians, and the most important is the talking of him all over the world.  the hottest topic is now about the baffled of how he fake his death on the last episode in Series 2, The Reichenbach Fall here .  

I will never be able to thank you enough to you all, Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and Steve Thompson.  You made those years of Holmes back.  Every detail of it.  :’)

Well, I hate to admit this, but these guys really make me speechless.

Pertama tau, yang terlintas di pikiran film ini hanya sekedar buatan orang yang memanfaatkan nama tenar Holmes untuk dijual.  They’re NOT his fan at all.  Para penggemar Holmes di seluruh dunia pasti udah kecewa banget sama Sherlock Holmes The Movies yang beredar dimana-mana.  Holmes versi Hollywood.  

Awalnya males-malesan nonton series ini.  Apalagi buat saya season 1 nya ngga sebagus itu.  I mean, I do like Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson, but the twists on the story don’t work so much for me.  Karakterisasi Holmes di film ini jauh lebih bagus dilakukan oleh Benedict Cumberbatch dibanding Robert Downey Jr.  So british and so cold.  Tapi ceritanya agak kurang.  Agak aneh menurut saya.

But the season 2 is AWESOME.  Jauh lebih bagus.  Jauh lebih indah.  Cerita yang sangat natural dengan memadukan kemajuan teknologi yang sudah sangat jauh dibanding dengan cerita aslinya.  Pertama agak weirdo melihat Holmes kirim SMS, tapi di season 2 ini penulisan ceritanya jauh lebih bagus dan natural.  Karakterisasi Holmes yang jauh lebih sempurna. Se-menyebalkan itu loh Holmes, se-british itu, se-nggak punya perasaan itu loh, se-cold-blooded itu, dan se-khas itu loh smartnya Holmes.  He’s not into action.  He will keep in silent and done the things.  Oh, Benedict Cumberbatch, how could you’ve done that?  How could you act so naturally?  Dan Watson?  Se-sabar itu loh Watson, se-diem itu, dan sepaham itu sama Holmes.  Well done you guys, Thompson, Gatiss, Moffat, Cumberbatch and Freeman.  I’m really taking my hat off.  

Please,please, everybody, if you want to know more about Sherlock Holmes, don’t watch the movies, watch the series!  It’s much mooooooorrrre better fit Holmes.
